I activate the blank surface with color, gestures and mark which launches me into the painting. My feelings and intuition direct me, allowing the act of creation to be the guide. The process can elicit any number of emotions that are translated through these gestures, textures, patterns, scrapes, movements and colors – some will be revealed and some will be veiled.

My paintings take on a life of their own. Like us, they are complicated with layers of history and emotion stored within. Some have lots of movement and energy while others are quiet and contemplative.
